Duru Aran
Co-President
Duru is a third year student majoring in Math and Computer Science, minoring in Linguistics to really be able to understand AI. Although she only recently became an AI enthusiast, she's most interested in its financial applications, as well as learning how it's developed from the very start. Outside of the library you can find her hanging out with friends, playing the trumpet, or rewatching her comfort shows under a blanket.
Ada Tur
Co-President
Ada is a third-year CS and Linguistics student, a researcher at Mila/McGillNLP, and a 2024 AAAI UC Scholar. Her current research focuses are NLP, multimodal AI, digital agents, computational linguistics, AI safety, and speech processing. She also has experience with music and AI, computer vision, and human-computer interaction. Outside of academics/research, Ada enjoys going to concerts and shows, TTRPGs, playing music with her band, hosting radio shows at CKUT 90.3 FM, and spending time with her gorgeous, accomplished son (cat), Vegas.
Sina Salmannia

Sina is a second-year Computer Science student with a strong passion for human-AI interactions and projects that merge human traits with artificial intelligence. He is also very interested in airplanes, simulators, and specific video games (and is always open to discussing these topics for hours.) Feel free to send him a message and make new connections! :)

Ramatoulaye is a first-year Computer Engineering student minoring in Applied AI, interestd in AI applications in medicine and the ethical implications of AI's growing role in various fields. She enjoys video games, superheroes, and anime.

Alexandre is a second year Software Engineering student with a minor in Cognitive science. Passionate about the intersection of human and artificial intelligence. He enjoys running and classic video games. He is currently an intern at LANDR audio.
Eya Ibrahim

Eya is a third-year student from BC studying computational neuroscience. She hopes to delve into the world of neurotechnology, and BCIs in particular. In her research, she is working on ways in which AI can optimize pattern recognition for brain activity.
Antoine Paradis

Antoine is a third-year physics, computer science, and economics student with a passion for interdisciplinary problems. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing and skiing, with a current interest in perfecting his beer-making skills (talk to me about it!). He is currently exploring the world of quantitative finance at National Bank, and is excited to bring insightful conversations about AI to the general public.
David Medcalfe

David is pursuing a Master of Information Studies under the supervision of Professor Benjamin Fung, Canada Research Chair in Data Mining for Cybersecurity. His research focuses on the ethical and legal challenges of AI, leveraging his legal expertise and advanced studies in data science and knowledge management to advance responsible AI practices and bolster cybersecurity resilience.
Melek Deniz Colak

Deniz is a fourth-year Cognitive Science student, concentrating in Computer Science. They are interested in the healthcare applications of AI and bioinformatics. In their free time, they enjoy cooking, crafting, and hiking with friends.
William Kiem Lafond

William is a second year Stats and CS student who likes learning on the algorithmic and statistical side of ML. He can nerd out on cool algorithms (favourite one: bogosort). Outside of tech, his hobbies consists of working out with his dragonboat team and doing graphic designing for the vietnamese club (shoutout MVSA)!!
Maëlle Guislain

Maëlle is a third-year undergraduate, studying Economics, Finance and Computer Science. She is interested in quantitative finance and the applications of AI in the world of banking. Outside of academics, she loves traveling, playing volleyball and enjoying music on the piano.

Arpan is fourth year CS and Stats student interested in the use of AI for education, and AI algorithms of social media. His hobbies include soccer, volleyball and traveling.

Henry is a first year student in Computer Science and Economics with a deep interest in the uses of AI in tech and startups, reflecting his entrepreneurial interests. Henry's pass-times include basketball, reading, drawing, and film (Look out for his horror movie club coming soon...).

Murad is a second-year CS - AI student interested in generative AI, and he is actively learning reinforcement learning. He wants to pursue research and to launch his own startup. His hobbies include football, gym, basketball, video games, movies, and board games.

Tianyi is a second year Math and CS student interested in Bio-inspired AI, LLM, NLP, and also ML engineering. He really enjoys all things food and sports related. He hopes to pursue further into research and apply ML in the industry.

Emma is a third year student in Hon. Computer Science. Passionate about the ethical and socio-legal aspects of AI and tech, which she is exploring in her research at the University of Copenhagen. In her spare time, she is usually drawing in the parc, finding new music or hanging out with close ones :)

Angadh is a third year CS and Stats student interested in theoretical ML research and using AI to battle climate change. His hobbies include playing the guitar, reading absurdist literature and playing sports.

Veronica is a Masters student, focusing on user-centred AI design and human-AI interaction. She also enjoys reading, window shopping around Montreal, and making easily store-bought foods.

Alexandre is a third-year law student interested in AI regulation, privacy law, and time series forecasting. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, playing golf and chess, and discovering new music.
Shahrad Mohammadzadeh
Senior Advisor
Shahrad is a Master's student in AI/ML at Mila/McGill. His work revolves around analyzing LLM behvaiour and efficiency, Graph Neural Networks and Reinforcement Learning. You can find him play the piano and Spikeball (ofc not at the same time, tho he would love to). He is always happy to connect :)
