Cheng Lin
President
Cheng is in her fourth year of electrical engineering. She's interested in cool applications of ML and ways of realizing these applications that benefit everyone. She can often be found figure skating, climbing, or listening to music.
Rosie Zhao
VP Internal
Rosie is a third year Mathematics and Computer Science student with interests in natural language processing and machine learning mathematical theory. She has a love-hate relationship with React and does graphic design in her free time.
Philip Tam
VP External
Philip is a third year Computer Science student with interest in natural language, and its application in automatic speech detection and text generation. Rumors say that he always has candy with him.
Raphaëlle Tseng
VP Communications
Raph is a third year Maths and Comp Sci student, keen to apply AI in a way that has a positive social and environmental impact on the world. She likes warm sunshine, the ocean and a good book. Her friends think her spirit animal is a cat.
Yu Lu Liu
VP Communications
Yu Lu is a second year Stats and Comp Sci student. She is interested in applications of ML, especially in the field of linguistics and of earth sciences. She also loves gardening and watching nature documentaries.
Teresa Altamirano Mayoral
VP Events
Teresa is a third year Computer Science student with a minor in Psychology. She is interested in the intersection between technology and psychology and how each discipline contributes in some ways to the other. When she is not coding, she is either organizing events, playing the guitar, or devouring a fantasy book.
Parsa Yadollahi
VP Finance
Parsa is a third year Computer Science student interested in software engineering and quantitative finance. A lover of Toronto and Drake, he embodies the spirit of Trottier’s 3rd floor where he and his trademark biceps roam.
Jad Hamdan
Academic Lecturer
Jad Is a third Year Honours Computer Science and Math student with interest in ML theory and Math. If you have any questions ranging from Computer Science to how to make your rap flow better after chugging half a cup of ~water~, he’d be happy to help. He will be passing on that raw knowledge during the MAIS bootcamp lectures. He also goes by the name Senpai.
KC Tsiolis
Academic Lecturer
KC is a third year Mathematics and Computer Science student. During the last two summers, he conducted NLP research at Mila under the supervision of Prof. Jackie Cheung. When not studying, he loves watching, playing, and talking about sports.
Zedian Xiao
Technical Project Manager
Zedian is a third year Mathematics student with minors in Computer Science and Finance. He is passionate about representation learning for natural language processing. In his free time, he enjoys running and exploring new food.
Ying Wang
Technical Project Manager
Ying is a fourth year Statistics and Computer Science student with a minor in Finance. She is interested in data science and quantitative finance. With a love for nature, she takes photos of stunning sunsets every day :D
